Welcome to the launch of Viva Loudoun’s new website!
Since starting in 2009 we have been on the trusty Blogger platform but after more than 6,000 articles we felt like it was time for an upgrade and today we launch the new Viva Loudoun website as designed by the good folks at SynaVista in Leesburg.
On the old Viva Loudoun site it was tough sometimes to find all the great content so the new site was designed to display as many stories as possible. Viva Loudoun fans still have access to all the content from the past via the new Viva Loudoun Archives.
We will continue our usual coverage of local high school athletics — you know you can trust us to provide you with all the scores, standings and schedules as well as key game stories and amazing photo galleries — but with our new site we are also going to ramp up our coverage of other local news, especially in the arts and entertainment area, and our coverage on the schools is going to expand to include all extracurricular activities such as music, drama, science, art, etc. as well as highlighting all the great academic stories in Loudoun.
As part of our increased coverage we are hiring high school interns at all 13 of Loudoun’s public high school to help us provide a local voice for each school. Those interested in applying to become a Viva Loudoun high school intern should contact editor Dan Sousa.
The Viva Loudoun site also offers advertisers and sponsors an enhanced platform to reach the great Viva Loudoun community (nearly 6,000 followers on Twitter and 3,000+ fans on Facebook!). Find out more about advertising on Viva Loudoun here.
We hope you enjoy our new site!
