Ashburn, Va. (October 22, 2014) — Old meets new this Friday night when Loudoun’s first high school football program plays host to Loudoun’s latest.
On the verge of their sixth decade of football, the Raiders of Loudoun County High School (3-4, 57.6 rating for 12th place in 4A North) need a win to stabilize their chances of making the playoffs for a fourth straight year. It’s been a roller-coaster for the Raiders so far, winning their first two but now on a three-game loss skid.
They’ll try to get things right against the most recent team introduced into the local football family that County began. In their third season of varsity competition, the Knights of John Champe High School (4-3, 60.7 rating for 7th place in 3A East) are enjoying the most successful campaign in the school’s short history — already doubling their win total from the first two years combined. They’ll come to Leesburg with confidence after a blowout victory followed a pair of very close defeats.
Expect them to chuck it all around the field as County quarterback Tae Crews-Naylor leads his Raiders into battle against Champe signal-caller Zach Burdick in a crucial matchup for both squads. We’ll have all the coverage for you from venerable old Loudoun County High School as VivaLoudoun’s Top Ticket Of The Week.
