Ashburn, Va. (October 8, 2014) – VivaLoudoun’s Top Ticket for Week 7 is a truly special occasion that will come in two distinct parts. First, a solemn ceremony dedicated to the legacy of Adam Fortune, a gentleman and an educator whose life was short but whose impact was great. Second, a ball game that promises to be an absolute slobber-knocker of a Division 5A football clash.
Known as Coach Fortune to his players, Mr. Fortune to his students and a dear friend to his colleagues, Adam Fortune passed away suddenly just before the start of the 2014-2015 season. He left behind countless memories and fondest sentiments from those who knew him at the two high schools for which he coached offense with such consistent success: Broad Run and Tuscarora.
Now, the two programs he helped build into statewide prominence go head-to-head in the first game to be played on newly christened Adam Fortune Field. The Spartans of Broad Run High School (4-1, 26.20 power points for 5th place in 5A North) travel to Leesburg to battle the Huskies of Tuscarora High School (6-0, 29.17 points for 1st in 5A North). The Huskies have reeled off their win streak by an average margin of 30 points, while the Spartans’ sole setback was a close affair with Stone Bridge.
It’s the Spartans versus the Huskies, two teams with dreams of making it a memorable season, while recalling memories of their dearly departed mentor.
We’ll have all the coverage for you as VivaLoudoun’s Top Ticket Of The Week.
