LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (March 1, 2017) – The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Redskins Read Program will welcome five local elementary schools to Redskins Park for the Redskins Read Across America Day Celebration on Thursday, March 2 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, Redskins Players, Redskins Cheerleaders and the following elementary schools:
- Saratoga Elementary School (FCPS)
- Dominion Trail Elementary School (LCPS)
- Clopper Mill Elementary School (MCPS)
- Patterson Elementary School (DCPS)
- Rosa Parks Elementary School (PGCPS)
will be participating in the Redskins Read Across America Day Celebration, Thursday, March 2 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m at Redskins Park Indoor Practice Facility
The Redskins Read Across America Day Celebration aims to reward participants of the 2016 – 2017 Redskins Read Program with a day to celebrate the joy of reading and Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The schools attending are five of 117 schools throughout the D.C. Metro area participating in the Redskins Read Program, which provides supplemental classroom tools for reading, writing and vocabulary for fourth and fifth grade students.
Upon arrival at Redskins Park, students will rotate through five activity stations, each themed around a different Dr. Seuss book. Activities will range from story time to Play 60 relays, and arts and crafts.
