Charlottesville, VA (May 9, 2015) – Nineteen outstanding young people from schools across Virginia will receive the 2015 The Allstate/VHSL Achievement Award Scholarships at a luncheon on Monday, May 11 in Charlottesville.
The Allstate Foundation/VHSL Achievement Award is the Virginia High School League’s premier program for recognition of individual students involved in athletic and academic activities sponsored by 313 member schools.
This year, the $1,500 scholarships recognize 19 high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom and in student activities. Awards have been presented since 1992 to the outstanding males athletes, female athletes and academic activities participant. The Allstate Foundation/VHSL Achievement Awards also recognizes a student for courageous achievement in overcoming exceptional circumstances to find success in VHSL activities.
Of those nineteen, Tuscarora High School’s Anna Wasko was named the Group 5A Female Athlete of the Year, and Noah Reimers was named the VHSL Group 5A Male Athlete of the Year.

Group 3A Female Athlete of the Year – Remedy Rule, Western Albemarle
Group 3A Male Athlete of the Year – Carter Kale, Lafayette
Group 3A Academic Activity – Marie Gilbert, Waynesboro
Group 4A Female Athlete of the Year – Kate Carrington, E.C. Glass
Group 4A Male Athlete of the Year – Peter Seufer, E.C. Glass
Group 4A Academic Activity – Mia Karr, Harrisonburg
Group 5A Female Athlete of the Year – Anna Wasko, Tuscarora
