Leesburg, Va. (September 21, 2014) – Yesterday, Tuscarora High School hosted the Oatlands Invitational at the Oatland’s Plantation outside of Leesburg Va.
Over 60 high schools and 3,000 runners were in attendance. The Knights of Columbus, who coordinating the parking and the Oatlands Plantation staff who allowed the thundering herds of student runners to compete on their grounds, deserve a special shout out from the Loudoun County community.
Loudoun Valley’s Andrew Hunter and Heritage’s Weini Kelati took first place overall for the boys and girls Varsity A Oatlands Invitational heats. Andrew’s time of 15:21 is the fastest time in Virginia for this season so far.
Other individual performances of note were Broad Run’s Ethan Newland (7th place), Tuscarora’s Fitsum Seyoum (13th), and on the girls side Loudoun Valley’s Ciara Donohue (3rd place), and Heritage’s Georgie Mackenzie (11).
In overall team finishes, Brentsville District took first place for the boys and James Madison claimed first place for the girls. Top three finishes and Loudoun County high school team finishes are listed below.
