Coach Plank was fortunate to play college baseball at West Virginia University and always wanted to teach and coach once his playing days were over. “I still get goose bumps seeing a fresh cut infield with chalk lines ready for game day,” said Plank.
Coach Plank is very excited about this upcoming season. He has eight position players and four pitchers returning to the Varsity team.

The Stone Bridge Varsity Baseball Team has a true passion for the game of baseball and hate losing more than they love winning. Every player is focused on the end goal of winning the Virginia High School League (VHSL) 5A State Championship and aren’t losing sight. In 2014, the Bulldogs had an outstanding season with a record of 23 – 2 and were Conference 14 Champions and 5A North Regional Champions. The Bulldogs lost to the Hickory Hawks in the State semi-final game. The Hawks later went on to become the 2014 VHSL 5A State Champions.
Coach Plank’s outlook and expectations for the 2015 season is that he is very excited! “While we have a very tough schedule this season, the little things will need to be taken care of if they are to successfully achieve their goal,” said Plank.
According to Coach Plank, “The most rewarding thing about being a baseball coach is seeing my players work hard every day together as a baseball family! When I was a young coach my focus was on winning and now my focus is on relationships with my players.” Coach Plank believes that “being a good team is very important, because a good teammate is loyal, tough and always accountable.” Coach Plank’s Bulldog Baseball formula is Good Teammates = Baseball Family = A chance for something special!
Please join me in wishing the Stone Bridge Bulldogs Varsity Baseball Team success in the 2015 season, as well as all other teams in Loudoun County.
