Ashburn, VA (December 12, 2016) – Team LoCo Motion, a youth competition pistol team has risen to nationwide prominence through participation in the yearlong National Virtual Match Series, sponsored by the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF). The team is part of the SSSF’s Scholastic Action Shooting Program where youth, ages 12 – college, shoot pistols at steel targets while timed. Team LoCo Motion was established in 2015 and currently boasts of 22 athletes from both Loudoun and Frederick counties.
The Virtual Match Series this year consisted of almost 300 competitors from across the country who competed both as individuals and in squads. The competitions took place locally but the rankings are tallied nationwide. Team LoCo Motion competitors were in their rookie year, yet the team achieved top-level squad placements. The team’s national squad results were:

At the individual level, Adam Jardines took 1st place nationally in the High School Rookie Division, with squad members Brian O’Mara and Joshua Eager taking 7th and 8th respectively. Ethan Jardines took 2nd place among rookies in the Middle School Division with teammate Corinne Whisenant taking 7th place nationally.
Team LoCo Motion received a start-up grant from the NRA Foundation for shooting equipment and practices at the 340 Defense range near Berryville. As a way of assisting other youth development programs the team has run pistol qualifications sessions for the VIKING Division Sea Cadets in Purcellville, as well as the Leesburg and Winchester Civil Air Patrol squadrons.
