(Dec. 10, 2013) – Team Joe Charities held their 7th annual golf tournament on Oct. 3, 2013 at Loudoun Golf & Country Club in Purcellville and the charity, created in 2006 to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Fairfax Hospital for Children, has reached the $200,000 mark.
The namesake of the charity, Joe Petrella, was born 12 weeks early and weighed only 1.5 pounds. During his 3 ½ month stay in the NICU the wonderful staff nurtured him and provided outstanding care. Joe went through many ups and downs, but with the love and support of the NICU he went home with almost no lingering health issues. Joe’s parents, Denny and Gen Petrella, created the charity to raise money for the NICU as a “thank you” for the wonderful care they gave their son. The money raised will be used to furnish a family lounge in the new NICU being built at Fairfax Hospital.
Team Joe Charities has a wonderful group of sponsors, including these amazing Founder Sponsors: Dan Sousa, VivaLoudoun; Bill Thomas, Keller Williams Realty; Steve Jacobus, Loudoun Valley Floors; Dr. Chad Parsons, Advanced Corrective Chiropractic; James Consagra, United Bank; Suzanne Kim, BB&T Wealth Management; Brett Heverly, Green Mountain Horticulture; Belfort Furniture; The Katelyn Hall Foundation; Fairfax Neonatal Associates; Cheers Sports; and the Petrella Family.
