Sterling, Va. (December 21, 2014) – The Stone Bridge Bulldogs swim team beat the Loudoun County Raiders in a swim meet at Ida Lee pool. The Bulldog boys won 154 to 132 and the girls won 209 to 77. Overall, the Bulldogs took 18 first place finishes to Loudoun County’s 4.
In six events, Stone Bridge swimmers finished 1-2-3. In the Girls 200 yard Freestyle, Andi Mack finished first (1:54.96), Lindey Jachimowski finished second (2:06.82) and Trang Ding finished third (2:11.0). In the Girls 100 yard Butterfly, it was Andi Mack (56.90), Alyssa Coon (1:05.87 and Jordan Trent (1:09.01). In the Girls 100 Yard Freestyle, it was Brooke Matthias (56.59), Rebecca Oh (59.38) and Heather Stone (1:00.50). In the Girls 500 Yard Freestyle, it was Lindsey Jachimowski (5:35.06), Alyssa Coon (6:04.63) and Dakota Caron (6:08.76). In the Boys 100 Yard Breaststroke, it was Eric Wan (1:17.72), David King (1:19.16) and Grant Vazin (1:19.31). and in the Grls 100 Yard Backstroke, it was Lizzie MAndrgoc (:14.41), Micheala Wilson (1:17.47) and Madeleine Masi (1:27.45).
Loudoun Conuty’s boys fared a bit better, winning the 200 yard Freestyle relay, finishing, first and third, the 100 Yard Freestyle, and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. In the 200 Yard Freestyle relay, the team of Nick Rexroad, Jake Yeager, Collins Hughes and Nick Vaka finished first with a time of 1:36.96. In the 400 Yard Freestyle relay, the Raider team of Jake Yeager, Nick Vaka, Collin Hughes and Jared Koening finisher first with a time of 3:29.24. In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Collin Hughes held off Stoen Bridge with a time of 49.89.
The Raiders next meet is on January 2, against Briar Woods at Ida Lee at 9:00 p.m.
Stone Bridge’s next meet is on January 9, at Thomas Jeffferson at 6:00 p.m.
