Ashburn, VA (July 4, 2015) – One of the Stone Bridge pillars of the Bulldog offensive line, Andrew Vastardis, has committed to play football for Old Dominion University in the 2016-2017 school year. The 6-4, 300 lb., offensive tackle considered offers from the Air Force, Delaware, Fordham, Liberty, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and William and Mary.

Vastardis’ recruitment picked up in the spring of 2015 after completing his junior year on the gridiron. As a pillar of the offensive line, Vastardis helped the Bulldogs grind out 3,203 yards offensively from their single wing formation and also help achieve 43 touchdowns on the way to their VHSL 5A Norhern region semifinal game against Massaponax.
Vastardis can really play anywhere on the ODU offensive line, but the Monarchs coaching staff see him as an inside blocker at the moment. Vastardis said, ““I think the coaches like that I play with a high motor, I’m tough and I try to play smart on the field so I can make adjustments on the fly.”
Fortunately for the Bulldogs, Vastardis has a great year left in him as he completes his senior year at Stone Bridge and helps his teammates achieve their one goal, get the state championship ring! This year Stone Bridge brought home three state championships in the spring of 2015 with Baseball, Girls Lacrosse and Boys Lacrosse. Only time will tell what happens at the end of the fall season in 2015.
Andrew’s educational accomplishments have been exceptional as well, he completed his junior year with a 4.4 GPA.
Please join me in congratulating Andrew on his commitment to Old Dominion University.
