(January 19, 2014) – Stone Bridge High School senior Molly Lausten has signed to play lacrosse at Haverford College beginning in the 2014-2015 school year.
“It is such a relief and weight off my shoulders to already be committed to college,” said the 5-foot-1 Lausten. “I chose Haverford because of its rigorous academics and the campus and school seems right for my personality.”
Located just outside of Philadelphia, Haverford College is a small school with just over 1,000 enrolled undergraduate students. Over 40-percent of students at Haverford compete for the Division III Fords as student-athletes.
In 2013, Haverford finished 13-5 including a 7-2 record in the Centennial Conference before falling to Franklin & Marshall College in the conference semifinals.
At Haverford, Lausten – who will play either attack or midfield for the Fords – said she “hopes to learn the college game, work hard and make a positive impact on the team.”
Last season, the Ashburn school finished 12-5 falling to Westfield High School in the Northern Region quarterfinal.
“This season I hope to get deep into the playoffs and hopefully win states,” said Lausten who plays club lacrosse for Future Elite.
