Ashburn, Va. (October 31, 2014) – The Stone Bridge Bulldogs steam-rolled the Fairfax Rebels with a score of 41-14 to pick up their seventh win of the 2014 season.
The Bulldogs were first to put points on the scoreboard with a 6 yard run by Chance Frye and Vishal Goshain’s PAT conversion. Collin Buckley gained nice yardage in the first quarter with a 34 yard run and a 6 yard run, each for a touchdown (TD) in the first quarter. The second quarter Collin forced into the end zone from the five for his third TD and Chance Frye easily rushed into the end zone from the 1 yard line. The third quarter had two TDs from both teams. Z. Hess caught a 31 yard pass from George Ganbold with Brooks converting the PAT, and Lawton Riggs caught a 3 yard pass from Tanner Karafa in the end zone to nearly seal the fate of the Rebels. In the fourth quarter, J. Fisher, broke loose a 61 yard run for the Rebel’s second and last TD of the night with Brooks converting the extra point.
The top Bulldog rushers of the game were Tanner Karafa with 9 carries for 153 yards, and Collin Buckley with 8 carries for 85 yards, and 3 TDs, and followed by Dohnavyn Jefferson with 5 carries for 47 yards. The top Rebel rusher was DeAngelo Barr with 7 carries for 25 yards. The Rebel rushers had a total of 24 carries for a negative 35 yards. A rough night for the Rebels in Ashburn.
The air attack was led by Stone Bridge quarterback, Joe Thompson, with 20 attempts , 13 completions for 171 yards, followed by Sophomore QB, Blake Kinkoph, with 2 attempts and 1 completion for 7 yards. Senior Tight End, Tanner Karafa, took his first shot at passing and he connected on a 3 yard pass to Lawton Riggs in the end zone for the 6th and final TD of the game. The leading Rebel quarterback, George Ganbold, had 16 attempts and 9 completions for 99 yards and 1 TD.

The Bulldogs had a total offense of 539 yards while the Rebels had 177 yards total. The Bulldogs won the game on the ground through their explosive rushing!
The Stone Bridge defense held Fairfax scoreless in the first half, and allowed a 31 yard pass that led to a TD in the third quarter and a 61 yard TD run in the fourth quarter. The Bulldog defense was solid with 52 first hits, 26 assists, 6 tackles for loss yardage, 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 4 passes knocked down. Wow! The Bulldog D protected their house as they have all year! Tanner Karafa was in beast mode and led the Bulldog defense with 21 first hits, 4 assists, 3 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. Great work coming from a young man who recently committed to play for the Boston College Eagles next year.
