McLean, Va. (September 26, 2014) – The Stone Bridge Bulldogs picked up their third win of the 2o14 season against the Madison High School Warhawks with a score of 28-17.
The Bulldogs were first to put points on the scoreboard with Chance Frye catching a 50 yard pass from Joe Thompson. The Stone Bridge defense held Madison to only a field goal in the first quarter, while Joe Thompson forged through the Warhawk defense with a 5 yard run to end the 1st quarter with the Bulldogs leading 14-3.
The second quarter went scoreless with both defenses playing a tough game on both sides of the ball. In the third quarter, the Warhawks came out fired up and were able to score with Ebersole catching a 60 yard pass from Gastrock. The Bulldogs were scoreless in the 3rd quarter but came back with a surge in the 4th quarter with two red zone carries for touchdowns by Chance Frye and Dohnavyn Jefferson for 5 yards and 7 yards respectively. The surge was to much for the Warhawks to stave off, eliminating any comeback.
The top rushers of the game were Chance Frye with 8 carries, 94 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Collin Buckley with 16 carriers and 91 yards. The air attack was led by Warhawk quarterback, Jason Gastrock, with 29 attempts , 15 completions for 229 yards. Joe Thompson, the Bulldog quarterback, had 20 attempts and 10 completions for 128 yards.

The Bulldogs had a total offense of 346 yards while the Warhawks had 250 yards total. The Bulldogs won the game on the ground.
