Sterling, Va. (January 30, 2015) – Thanks to the efforts of Rich Gladu of Sterling Exxon, Sterling Middle School has been awarded a $500 ExxonMobil Educational Alliance grant.
The money will be used to purchase Chromebooks. The Chromebooks will be used to compete in the county-wide middle school Academic Challenge. They will be housed in resource classes as additional support for Sterling Middle’s students. Students will be able to compete in practices for the Academic Challenge event.
The Chromebooks also will allow students to have access to skill-building applications and programs that enhance their performance on Standards of Learning (SOL) tests.
The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide Exxon retailers like Gladu with an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.
