(March 7, 2014) – Rock Ridge High School, which opens in the fall in the Ashburn area to become Loudoun County’s 14th public high school, has named Dominion High School boys varsity coach Jason Geyer as the Phoneix’s first ever coach.
Rock Ridge Athletic Director Pat McNanley in a release: “Coach Geyer is an alumni of JMU where he earned both his bachelors and masters degrees. As the head coach at Dominion, coach Geyer led the Titans to the conference championship game and the regional semifinals this past season.”
He continued: “The Titan program turned into a contender during his tenure at the school. Coach Geyer is excited to serve this community and to build a great program for the students of Ashburn . On behalf of the entire staff at Rock Ridge and the greater community, I can say we are proud to have him serve as our coach.”
Earlier Rock Ridge had named Broad Run assistant girls basketball coach Jaclyn Cummings as the school’s first girls basketball head coach.
McNanley: “Coach Cummings comes to us from Broad Run where she has served as a varsity assistant coach the last few years. Jaclyn is a product of LCPS and played basketball at Stone Bridge. She is very excited about coming to Rock Ridge and will be meeting with our girls very soon.”
And Rock Ridge also will have Ava Lalli serving as winter cheer head coach. She is also the new school’s fall competitive cheerleading head coach.
McNanley: “We are very excited about Coach Lalli coaching both of our cheer squads next year.”
