Loudoun County, Va. (August 12, 2014) – The Washington Redskins announced that the 2nd annual Redskins Back to Football 5K race will be held on Sunday, September 7, at 7 a.m. at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va.
Proceeds will benefit the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, whose mission is to make a positive impact on youth development in the greater Washington D.C. area, focusing on health and wellness, education and community outreach.
This year’s race will start and end inside Redskins Park, allowing participants the unique opportunity to experience the team’s headquarters. All participants will receive an official “Redskins 5K” t-shirt. Kids can participate in the Redskins PLAY 60 Fun Run.
“For the second year, this race will allow Redskins fans to come together to celebrate the start of our football season, all while benefiting the incredible youth-serving organizations we partner with to give back to children in our community,” said Redskins Executive Director of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, Jane Rodgers.
