Ashburn, Va (October 25, 2014) – Washington Redskins outside linebacker, Trent Murphy, has all the right stuff. He is smart, strong, intense and has talent! As a graduate of Stanford University, Trent excelled in the classroom and on the gridiron. As a second round draft pick by the Redskins, Coach Jay Gruden thinks that Trent seems to over-analyze a bit, or from Murphy’s viewpoint, under-analyzes. Sometimes Trent is also a bit tentative, by over- thinking situations, but he will put all together as he prepares for his first NFL start against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night, October 27th! His intensity will be heightened, so “Fear the Murph!”
Trent has great help to guide him as he begins his NFL career. His father, Jerry, is coaching him up, as well as Defensive Coordinator, Jim Haslett, and his fellow teammate, Brian Baker, and Coach Gruden yelling at him.
According to Gruden, “Everybody is trying to get the most out of him because we know how good he is, and sometimes that can just fry you a little bit. We’ve just got to lay off him a little bit, tell him what to do then let him go do it because he has got the talent to be a heck of an outside linebacker in this scheme.”
With Trent’s talent and toughness, he will continue to improve. He needs to bring all the stamina that is stored up, because the Cowboys will have their spurs dug in!
Are you ready for some football ? ? ?
