(April 3, 2014) – This is it. Four teams remain in this years National Championship. Who will rise to glory? The Florida Gators defeated Dayton 62-52 and have a date with the No. 7 seed UConn who defeated No.4 Michigan State 60-54. The Wisconsin Badgers defeated No. 1 seeded Arizona and will meet up with the No.8 seeded Kentucky Wildcats who knocked off the Michigan Wolverines 75-72. This year’s National Championship game will be one for the ages. We will have a new champion and most likely a thriller of a match-up. Let’s look at Saturday’s games.
No. 1 Florida Gators vs. No. 7 Connecticut Huskies: It may be April but the madness will continue. Florida has an all star lineup but the way UConn played against Sparty, Shabazz Napier will be dropping bombs on the Gators. We’ll see our first No. 7 seed team in the National Championship game since 1985 when the tournament expanded to 64 teams.
No. 2 Wisconsin Badgers vs. No. 8 Kentucky Wildcats: The freshman wildcats are looking for a chance to repeat what their predecessors did in 2012 but the Badgers will go to their first National Championship since they won it in 1941.
Well 2 of my original Final Four teams lasted. I’d say that is pretty darn good! I think we have a UConn vs. Wisconsin match- up for Monday night and if that were to happen, I’m leaning towards the Badgers, but it all depends on what happens Saturday night.
