The Loudoun County School Board appointed principals for Forest Grove and Aldie elementary schools at its Tuesday, June 24, meeting.
Shontel Simon was appointed to serve as the principal of Forest Grove Elementary School; beginning July 1. Simon comes to Forest Grove with a master’s degree in educational leadership from George Mason University and a bachelor’s of science from San Jose State University in California. She is a former teacher and has served as an administrative intern at Newton-Lee Elementary and an assistant principal at Sully Elementary for four years.
Deborah Lee was appointed to serve as the principal of both Aldie Elementary School and Banneker Elementary School; beginning July 1st. Lee comes to Aldie with a master’s degree in education from Shenandoah University and an endorsement in administration from George Mason University. She is a former teacher and has 15 years of administrative experience.
Lee has served as Banneker’s principal since 2008. Beginning July 1, she will split her time between the two schools. Lee will be glad to meet with parents and staff during the summer. Please call ahead to make sure she is available if you want to visit with her during the summer months.
