Ashburn (Sept. 4, 2015) – The Turner Ashby High School Knights visited the Riverside High School Rams for the first ever home game at the newest Loudoun County high school. Chas Sumser captured the action on Friday, September 4, and posted this photo gallery including 130 images.
As opposed to the Rams’ previous game against another new high school, a small junior class and no senior class resulted in a clear size difference between the two teams on this humid and hazy evening. The Rams were plucky and showed no signs of intimidation, but it was sometimes hard to find diminutive running back Corey Forst (4) amongst the Turner Ashby tacklers. Surrounded by a huge and enthusiastic opening night crowd, Riverside made some great defensive stops and showed an effective passing game, But, the Knights ran the ball pretty much at will and racked up a significant lead by halftime.
Due to continued threatening weather, the game was called a final at halftime with the visitors winning 33-0.
