Middleburg, VA (Mar. 1, 2016) – In a hard fought Feb 26th contest between the Middleburg Academy Dragons and the visiting Clinton Christian Eagles; after drawing a shooting foul, Middleburg’s Andrew Corum sank the second of two free throws to take a one-point lead with 5.5 seconds left in the game. As fortune would have it, a Clinton Christian player in-bounded the ball, broke free for a clear attempt at a basket, was fouled, and drained both free throws to flip the score 68 – 67 in their favor with 1.6 seconds on the clock.
In that sliver of time, Middleburg sharpshooter AJ Robinson caught the ball on the run, took a dribble, set and swished his shot just before the half-court line with zero time on the clock to win the game.
Viva Loudoun photographer Aaron Wyche was on hand to capture the thrilling victory and posted this gallery with 46 images.
