Lansdowne, VA (June 2, 2017) – Before the Riverside Rams fans had a chance to sit down, it was 2-0. But this wasn’t the typical start they were accustomed to. No, the lead belonged to the George Mason Mustangs. Would this game finally undo the home team’s unbeaten streak?
Chas Sumser, Viva Loudoun photographer, was there to capture the action and emotion and posted a gallery of images from the game.
Well, no, actually, because after a quick timeout the Rams got on a roll and scored five straight goals to gain what became an insurmountable margin.
Behind four goals from Jenna Greason and three apiece from Kendra Keyser and Lilly Boswell, Riverside cruised to the Regional championship and a top seed in the state tournament.
Final score: Riverside 18 – George Mason 6.
