Sterling, VA (September 11, 2016) – In front of a packed home stand, the Potomac Falls Panthers celebrated the dedication of a new stadium complex and turf field by defeating the Falls Church Jaguars by the score 46-14.
Potomac Falls QB Hunter Lawall threw 4 touchdowns, connecting with WR Kaevon Chase on three for scores of 37, 36 and 19 yards, and RB Jad Raqi for a 35 yards for the fourth.
The Panther’s hard hitting and swarming defense came up big as well. Not only did they limit the Jaguars’ spread offense to 195 yards, but they also recovered 5 fumbles and intercepted 1 pass. The first fumble recovery of the game resulted in a scoop-and-score of 43 yards by DB Dexter Ferguson. In the third quarter, DB Matt Maciose intercepted an errant pass and returned the ball 56 yards for a pick-6 after Jaguar quarterback Lucas Saia was pressured by OLB Grant Griffith.
Next up for the 3-0 Panthers is a trip to McLean to take on the 0-2 Langley Saxons.
