Round Hill, VA. (September 10, 2016) – The week 3 top-ticket match up exceeded all expectations as Heritage hosted Loudoun Valley Friday night September 9th.
The Pride struck early and often in the first quarter, taking a 10-0 lead thanks to a 25 yard run by Senior running back Luke Schaub, and 32 yard field goal by Sophomore Bryan Henriquez.
A run by Tyler Hunt would put Valley on the board 10-7 midway through the 2nd quarter with 6:00 minutes remaining until halftime. Valley would capitalize on their momentum and take the lead 10-14 when Seniors Nick Kallivokas and Duron Norris connected for the go-ahead touchdown. However, the Valley lead was short-lived as Heritage Senior Alex Carlin connected with Sophomore Gio Wooten to reclaim the lead 17-14 just prior to halftime.
The 2nd half was all Valley – as the Vikings scored 21 unanswered points to claim the win: 10-35. Tyler Hunt would collect 2 more touchdowns, finishing the night with 3 and 172 yards. Duron Norris also added to his touchdown total, finishing with a pair and 75 yards total.
Next week September 16, Loudoun Valley will host John Champe at home, while Heritage will travel to face the Freedom Eagles.
