Round Hill, VA. (September 9, 2016) – A field hockey double header at Loudoun County started off with the Raiders hosting Woodgrove on their home turf. The Raiders took an early 1-0 lead and then played stout defense to keep the Wolverines on their heels late into the 2nd half. With 10 minutes left in regulation, Woodgrove evened the score 1-1. Woodgrove kept up the offensive pressure on the striking circle, finding the goal for the 2nd time and taking the lead. A last second corner play for the Raiders provided a final opportunity to even the match – but solid defense by the Wolverines seated their win: 2-1.
Loudoun County will next Loudoun Valley on Tuesday September 13 at home, while Woodgrove will travel to John Champe to face Tuscarora on Wednesday September 14.
