Arlington, VA (February 28, 2016) – There was a buzz in the air surrounding the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League (NVSHL) hockey championship game between the reigning champions, Stone Bridge Bulldogs, and the Woodbridge Vikings set to go after the title. With a standing-room-only crowd at Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Friday, February 26th, the Bulldogs led a complete assault on the Vikings’ defense the entire game to capture its second straight undefeated season with a 6-0 win. Cade Groton and Ryan Leibold led the total team offensive effort. Groton loves to pass the puck to his teammates in scoring position and it was evident. He set up his teammate Ryan Leibold on several occasions and led him to score his hat trick early in the second period. Groton and Nick Haeff, and Ian Ross convincingly managed to get the puck into the net for the Bulldogs. The Vikings who played extremely well against the Broad Run Spartans on Wednesday night, could get enough muster to overcome the dominating Bulldogs. All who attended could see the Bulldogs outworked the Vikings to the puck into the net.
Head Coach John Lynch and Assistant Coaches Bryan Lynch, Matt Lynch and Gary Pouliot couldn’t be more ecstatic about the success their young men achieved this year. A second consecutive undefeated season!
Steven Holland was there to capture the action and the roar of the crowd as well as the post-game celebration and posted this photo gallery of 562 images.
Final score: Stone Bridge 6 – Woodbridge 0
