Nikole James, a junior at Potomac Falls High School, will study this summer at the Washington National Opera’s Opera Institute at American University.
The Opera Institute’s three-week curriculum is designed to prepare students for college music programs by giving them a taste of life as a music student. Students are presented with challenging musical and academic demands and supported at every turn by caring faculty and staff. Classes at the Opera Institute are deliberately small. This permits participants plenty of individual time with faculty members.
James is a member of the a cappela group, Panthera, and member of the Chamber Choir at Potomac Falls. She auditioned at the Kennedy Center for the Washington National Opera’s program.
James was one of 30 students selected out of more than 125 students from across the United States and abroad to take part in this prestigious program.
