Ashburn, Va (October 7, 2015) – In recognition of Fire Prevention Month many of Loudoun’s Fire and Rescue Companies are hosting open houses throughout October. Due to weather concerns last weekend, some of these events have been rescheduled. Please see the updated listing of open house events in Loudoun County:
Saturday, October 10, 2015, 10am – 4pm – Open House
Loudoun Heights, LCFR Fire Station 26, 13345 Harpers Ferry Road, Purcellville
Come meet your local firefighters! Open house will include station and apparatus tours, various activities focusing on fire safety topics for children and adults, as well as hands on firefighting demonstrations for all. Meet representatives from the Virginia Department of Health, Department of Forestry, Boy Scouts, Loudoun Co. Fire-Rescue Volunteer Recruitment, Between the Hills Community Association and several local businesses. Light refreshments will be served.

Open house to follow Sterlingfest parade. Events scheduled from 10:30am-3:30pm, includes firefighter equipment/skill demonstrations, kitchen fire demos, an aerial ladder demo, a car cutting/extrication demo at designated times, static apparatus and equipment displays and the smoke house.

Stop by and meet your Volunteers, see fire trucks, live demonstrations, have fun with the kids, and have a bite to eat with us. While you’re here, consider donating blood to the Red Cross, who will be on hand for a blood drive.

Come see the fire station and apparatus, meet firefighters, EMT’s and police officers, ride a fire truck, enjoy fire safety oriented children’s activities, bounce house and live demonstrations. Food and treats provided.

At our fall open house meet a firefighter, learn to call 911, learn stop drop and roll, touch a truck, firefighter ladder climb, fire truck and ambulance tours, face painting, arson dog, obstacle course, shoot the hose, and senior safety.
