Sterling, VA (November 8, 2014) – NOVA Roller Derby’s third home team season concludes with a doubleheader on November 15. First up is the race for second place: the Backwoods Rollers against the Metro Misfits; who beat the Rollers in a sudden death tie breaker last month. Secondly, the Beltway Betties will take on the Vineyard Vixens, who are NOVA Roller Derby’s undefeated champions the past two years.
The doubleheader bout will be played following the official rule set of Modern AthleticEndeavor (M.A.D.E.) —a national affiliation of leagues promoting fair, skilled competition. Advance tickets can be purchased for $10 at brownpapertickets.com, and can also be sold at the door for $12. Children ages 7 and under will be admitted for free. The Michael and Son Sportsplex (formerly Dulles Sportsplex) is located at 21610Atlantic Boulevard in Sterling, Va. Doors will open at 2:30 pm, so fans can get their choice of seats and pre-bout snacks. First whistle will be at 3:30 pm. Second bout starts at approximately at 5:30 pm.
NOVA Roller Derby has a charitable mission that focuses on supporting organizations that have an immediate impact on our community. In November, the league is proud to support the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, and will be collecting gently used clothing and gift cards.
