Ashburn, Va (July 19,2015) – As another year of college commitments comes to a close, it is time to reflect on the class of 2015. A total or 168 student athletes committed to play in college. This number is actually down from previous years, the record year being 2012 when 209 graduates continued their athletic careers at the next level. Further examination of the data shows the most popular sport was football, followed by soccer and baseball, with a total 13 different sports that will be represented at the collegiate level by Loudoun’s class of 2015. The breakdown of athletes by sport can be viewed in chart on the left.
The top schools for the class of 2015 follows a traditional trend with Christopher Newport number one with 15 commitments, followed by James Madison. The list of top ten is below.
