Loudoun County, Va. (July 29, 2014) – The Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra (LSYO) is holding auditions for the 2014-2015 season on Saturday, August 23 and Saturday, August 30.
These auditions are for middle and high school students who have three years’ experience with a school program or private teacher. (For the 2013-2014 season, approximately 80 students auditioned of which 55 were accepted. All members are re-auditioned annually.)

The season starts in September and goes through May. Rehearsals generally take place at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn from 7-9 p.m. on Mondays. Rehearsals include professionally directed sectionals, a master class and a concerto competition. (Percussion and brass players have the option to start in November after marching band season is over.)
Tuition for 2014-2015 season is $400. Some scholarships are available on a needs basis.
LSYO typically performs three concerts in a season. Scheduled concert dates will be announced once the season begins in September.
The LSYO is part of The Loudoun Symphony Association, Inc. which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association. The relationship between LCPS and the Loudoun Symphony started in 1991 when the symphony’s inaugural concert was held at Loudoun County High School.
