(Sept. 13, 2013) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance to help identify a white male subject who has been approaching juveniles in the communities of Lowe’s Island and Cascades.
In three separate incidents, the suspicious male is being described as “older”, about 50-60 years old with white or grey hair, and wrinkles on his face. The vehicle in question is described as being a late 90’s to early 2000’s dark blue pickup.
The first incident occurred on September 5, 2013 at about 12:30PM. A female reported observing an older white male subject watching her put groceries in her vehicle. The suspicious person was observed following the female to her residence and parking nearby. He drove away as neighbors returned home.
On September 9, 2013 at about 2:40PM, an older white male driving a blue pickup truck approached a 5th grade student after she exited a school bus near the area of Hollymead Place, in Sterling. The male subject asked the girl to go to Starbucks. She did not respond to the man and he drove away.
The most recent incident occurred on September 10, 2013 in the early evening hours. An older white male driving a blue pickup truck was observed pulling next to a group of children walking along the footpath of Algonkian Parkway. The vehicle drove away a short time later.
The LCSO continues to investigate leads but asks residents with any information on the identity of the suspect or vehicle to contact either Detective Tresselt or Sergeant Hunt at 703-777-0475. Residents are also reminded that an e-mail address has been established to allow leads or information to be submitted directly to the members of the Criminal Investigation Division.
