Leesburg, Va. (March 28, 2015) – The Fifth Annual “Sonrise” Easter Celebration will get underway on Sunday, April 5, at 9 a.m. at The Loudoun Salvation Army Headquarters located at 10 Cardinal Park Drive in Leesburg, Va.
The event will kick-off with a family-style breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, juice and more, provided by the Salvation Army and prepared by volunteers.
Following the breakfast at 9:30 a.m., all children 12 and under will be given the opportunity to search for eggs filled with candy, stickers and other surprises. Wal-Mart of Sterling is again helping to sponsor the event along with Leesburg United Methodist Church. Children will also receive Easter Baskets for as long as the supply lasts.
According to Captain Tasha Tanner of the Loudoun Salvation Army, the Easter Egg hunt will be followed by a worship service at 10 a.m. in their chapel.
“After the service, we’ll offer an activity area where families can create hand-crafted items together,” Tanner added. “And we’ll also be taking free family portraits that can be picked up later in the week.”
The Easter Day event should run until noon.
