Ashburn, Va (April 2, 2016) – There is a Food Drive about to start in Ashburn next month to help members of our community. The inspiration for this food drive started from a flyer distributed two weeks ago at local Sunday service. It showed the number of citizens who go hungry. This was alarming when you consider we live in Loudoun County, VA, the richest county in America. Let’s fight hunger here and now! After that we can have residents in neighboring communities in Loudoun County working for the same worthy mission.
Please volunteer, sponsor this great event, or both. Street captains are needed to place a Loudoun Interfaith Relief donation box at their home on May 7th and May 8th. The weekend prior we can give our friends and neighbors a flyer directing them to donate items. To support our marketing, we will use newspapers, social media, word of mouth and directional signs. The primary medium is Nextdoor.com. With this we can communicate with 2,300 opt-in readers. Take a look and see for yourself.
The Food Drive, Ashburn Cares, is an independent effort to create a grassroots campaign for the greater good. With our success we will look to help other community-based non-profit organiations. This campaign is to benefit Loudoun Interfaith.
Please contact Ken Courter at 571-201-3877 with suggestions on other worthy causes that have an Loudoun-centric focus or purpose. Suggestions have included collecting clothing, eyeglasses or school supplies.
