Leesburg (Nov. 22, 2013) – Loudoun County High School, Loudoun’s oldest high school which opened in 1954, announce Friday the formation of an Athletic Hall of Fame that will induct its inaugural class on Friday September 5, 2014 before the varsity football game against Freedom.
A Hall of Fame Committee has been formed, and they have created guidelines, as well as the nomination and selection process. The committee is now seeking public input in the nomination of potential Hall of Fame members. All nominations for the Class of 2014 must be to the committee by February 1, 2014. Information on the process, guidelines, and the nomination form can be found at www.raidersports.net under the“Hall of Fame” links at the top of the page.
“We are very excited to begin to honor those who have paved the way for Raider Athletics to be what it is today,” said Loudoun County athletic director in a release. “Loudoun County High School has a long and rich history of outstanding athletes, coaches, and contributors, so it is only right to honor them with a place in the LCHS Athletic Hall of Fame. The committee is tasked with a daunting job of researching and selecting those whose excellence deserves recognition from over 60 years of the school’s existence. We know the process of honoring all those who deserve it will take many, many, years … but we will start with our inaugural class in the Fall of 2014.”;
The Athletic Department would like to thank the members of the Hall of Fame Committee for their service to date and in the future. We look forward to public nominations and the process of honoring our history.
