(Aug. 19, 2013) – The Loudoun County Division of Procurement recently received the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute. This prestigious is award is given annually to organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes. Loudoun County is one of only five government agencies in Virginia and one of only 43 counties in the United States to receive the award. Loudoun has been a recipient of the award for 15 consecutive years.
In addition, the Procurement Division has also earned the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council’s (UPPCC) Agency Certification Award. This award is given to agencies that achieve specific levels regarding staff certification. The awards program was developed to recognize those organizations that have made a concerted effort to achieve procurement excellence by maintaining a high percentage of staff members who are UPPCC-certified. Loudoun has achieved a certification rate of 90 percent.
