Ashburn, VA (January 23, 2017) – Loudoun County alumni and Franklin & Marshall’s junior Sean Rogers was named to the 2017 Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook Division III Preseason All-America Second Team. A total of eight members from the Centennial Conference (CC) earned the distinction.
The junior attacker was one of the CC’s most dynamic scorers a year ago, landing United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America Third Team honors after leading the Conference in points (70) and goals (35) while ranking second in assists (35).
His 70 points on the season were the most by a Diplomat since 1995 as he tallied multiple points in 15 out of 17 contests. On three occasions he recorded a season-high eight points and picked up 32 ground balls to go along with nine caused turnovers on the year. Rogers collected 109 points during his first two seasons in Lancaster, making him one of the fastest to reach the 100-point plateau.
Rogers’ highlights from last season include being named to the 2016 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III All-America Third Team. First Team All-Centennial. Led the conference in points (70). Second in the conference in assists (35). Third in the conference in goals (35). Spearheaded an offense that finished the year third in the CC in goals (181) and assists (106). Started all 17 games of the season. Tallied 119 shots for the Diplomats with 69 shots on goal.
