Leesburg, Va. (May 28, 2015) – On May 15-16, Leesburg Christian School hosted the Old Dominion Association of Church Schools (ODACS) girls state soccer championship for the first time in the school’s history.
The weekend became even more historic after the Lady Lions dispatched the Faith Baptist School Conquerors and the Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy Patriots en route to a fourth straight state title, and their fifth straight appearance in the championship game.
The Lady Lions jumped out to large leads in the first half of both matches thanks to the stellar play of tournament MVP Sarah Koehler, and her fellow center midfielder Karter Corini.
Coupled with a defense that only allowed one goal all tournament and five goals against conference opponents all season, the Lady Lions had the makings of a championship team poised to hoist the first-place trophy, which they did after defeating FBTA 8-1 in the final. Karter Corini, Laila Pirnazar, and Lydia Frommack joined MVP Sarah Koehler in earning all-tournament team honors.
