Leesburg, Va. (November 26, 2014) – The Town of Leesburg invites locals and visitors to enjoy “the most wonderful time of the year” and experience a little holiday magic in historic downtown Leesburg.
On Friday, December 5, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., join friends and neighbors and celebrate the start of the holiday season in Leesburg at the annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting on the Town Green (25 West Market Street).
The festive ceremony will feature performances from local schools, the renowned Loudoun Chorale, and a holiday message from Leesburg Mayor Kristen Umstattd. The crowd will be invited to join in a holiday sing-a-long and then the Mayor will “throw the switch” to light the beautiful tree.
Plan to stay in downtown Leesburg after the ceremony as the downtown merchants will host Leesburg’s First Friday. Over 45 downtown shops, restaurants and businesses will be open late, with live music, special sales and holiday cheer.
