Loudoun County, Va. (February 17, 2015) – The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Offices is investigating a series of burglaries in the Ashburn area where the homes are possibly being targeted.
On February 12, unknown suspect(s) entered a home on Watson Heights Circle in Ashburn. Two more burglaries were reported on February 14, on Barnstead Drive, also in the Ashburn area. In the three cases, the suspect(s) entered either through a rear door or window while the residents were not at home. The burglaries occurred during the late afternoon into the early evening hours. Detectives are reviewing recent burglaries in the area to determine if other cases are possibly related to these latest crimes.
“It is likely these homes were targeted as all three of the victims are of Asian descent,” said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman. “We remind residents to secure their valuables in a safe deposit box or a wall safe,” Sheriff Chapman added.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has initiated directed patrols in these areas and continues to encourage residents to report any suspicious behavior, vehicles or persons by calling their 24-hour-non-emergency line at 703-777-1021. Residents are reminded to call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
