Ashburn, Va (July 3, 2015) – 200 musicians from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela and the United States are in Loudoun this week to participate in the 10th International Gathering of Youth Orchestras.
The event is being organized by the Youth Music Preservation and Promotion Association, a not-for-profit educational organization based in Loudoun County.
The USA team, composed of musicians from Loudoun and neighboring counties who were selected by audition in January. They have been rehearsing to prepare for their counterparts’ arrival.
The public performances of the 2015 International Youth Orchestra and Chorus will be on at 7 p.m. Friday at One Loudoun Plaza, 5 p.m. Saturday at Franklin Park in Purcellville and 6 p.m. Sunday in Armstrong Hall of Shenandoah University in Winchester.
