Dulles, Va. (December 19, 2014) – After two cold days at the toll plaza collecting canned food items from motorists during the morning and evening rush hours, we are thrilled to announce that 645 lbs of food was collected for Loudoun Interfaith Relief.
Loudoun Interfaith Relief is the largest food pantry in Loudoun County. For more information on LIR, please visit www.interfaithrelief.org.
“I think we picked the two coldest days of the year for our event but it was awesome seeing all the drivers pull up with grocery bags filled with items. I think a lot of people want to give but they just needed the opportunity to give,” said Terry Hoffman, Public and Customer Relations Manager for the Dulles Greenway.
The Greenway would like to thank all the motorists who contributed and thank our sponsor WTOP for promoting the event and encouraging drivers to participate.
The Dulles Greenway is a privately owned 14-mile toll road that connects Washington Dulles International Airport with Leesburg, Virginia. For more information visit: www.dullesgreenway.com
