Lothian, MD (July 20, 2015) – Rock Ridge’s Brandon Yoon fired four back-to-back birdies to close out his final round and win the Boys Division at the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior at Old South.
Yoon tallied six birdies in the final-round for a tournament total 7-under-par 209 (69-72-68–209) to take home the Boys Division trophy. This is the rising junior’s second AJGA tournament victory of 2015.
“My plan was to just stay calm and stick to my guns all week and it worked out really well,” Yoon said. “I could have probably birdied number 18 too and that would have just been the icing on the cake, but I am very happy with today’s win.”
Loudoun Valley’s Brandon Weaver placed 9th with a score of 218 (70-79-69–218).
