Loudoun County, Va. (January 30, 2015) – Morgan Becker (Loudoun Valley Class of 2010) and Nina Dunay (Broad Run Class of 2010), both 5th year seniors for the Liberty University Women’s Lacrosse team, have been named captains for the 2015 season.
Becker plays attack and Dunay plays midfield.
According to an article originally posted on the Flames News website, “Becker, a redshirt senior, is coming off a strong season where she tallied 32 goals and eight assists. The Round Hill, Va., native recorded a program best 79 draw controls a year ago and ranks first all-time in program history with 133 draw controls. Becker also ranks second all-time in points (117), third all-time in goals (90) and fourth all-time in assists (27).”
“Dunay, also a redshirt senior, was named second team all-conference last season thanks to her 22 goals and 11 assists. Dunay caused the most turnovers for the Lady Flames with 23. The Ashburn, Va., native currently holds the program record for career goals with 99. Alongside her accolades, Dunay ranks first all-time in program history in points (131) and third all-time in assists (32) and caused turnovers (54).”
Becker’s younger sister Olivia Becker (Woodgrove Class of 2013), is also on the team. She was named Big South Freshman of the Week, last April.
The Flames will open their 2015 season on February 6, against Virginia Tech at 4 p.m. at the Liberty Lacross Field.
