Salem, Va. (November 21, 2014) – In a replay of last years playoff run, the Woodgrove Wolverine’s football season came to an end Friday night in Salem, losing to the Spartans 38-28.
Woodgrove started out Friday night’s contest strong, establishing a 14-0 lead on a 54-yard run by QB Bill Sheehan and a 2 yard plunge by RB Chima Kpaduwa. The teams even traded TD’s in the second quarter, with Salem finally getting on the board with a 2-yard run by Alex Ramsey and Billy Sheehan adding his second TD for a 21-7 half time lead, but it wasn’t enough.
Salem made the necessary half time adjustments, and came out strong in the second half scoring 31 unanswered points on their way to a 38-28 victory. Billy Sheehan finished the day 15 for 36 passing with 157 yards and 1 TD. Sheehan also added two TD’s on the ground and 75 yards rushing. RB Chima Kpaduwa gained 91 yards on 22 attempts with 1 TD. WR Dylan Mellor had 8 catches for 69 yards and 1 TD.
