Ashburn, Va. (September 10, 2015) — It can’t be this easy.
After two games played, the Pride of Heritage High School is 2-0. They piled up 55 points in their opener, winning by 35…then they amassed merely 21 points in Week 2 – but they only allowed 6, so no sweat.
Coming off two straight 3-7 outputs, the Pride is swelling like it hasn’t in a long time.
After two games played, the Vikings of Loudoun Valley High School are 2-0. They kicked off with a 33-6 blowout, then followed that with a 41-14 cruise last Friday.
Despite losing a wealth of 23 talented seniors from last year’s nine-win squad, the Vikings’ ship is still sailing smooth.
This Friday, however, it won’t be so easy. The Pride and the Vikings will clash at Leonard Stadium in Purcellville for VivaLoudoun’s Top Ticket Of The Week. One team will leave riding high on a 3-0 start; the other will have to lick wounds and rebound soon.
Under third-year coach Reed Prosser, the Pride are led by emerging junior quarterback Alex Carlin with standout running back Mitch Westbrook (he the author of four scores already) right behind. Carlin’s got receivers Cole Miller and Darick Edmond to choose from.
The Vikings, headed by second-year helmsman Anthony Long, carry an abundance of weaponry on board too. Ultra-athletic senior wideout Trey McDyre has dashed for six touchdowns over two games, while Joseph LaFonte has embraced the role of featured back in his senior season, taking pressure off quarterback Jacob Stapleton.
We’ve got the undefeated Pride versus the unbeaten Vikings, and we’ve got the stories, photos, stats, updates and sensations for another tremendous showdown for VivaLoudoun’s Top Ticket Of The Week. Stay on top of the action @VivaLoudoun.
