Ashburn, VA (February 5, 2015) – The biggest day of the year for high school football players to sign their National Letter of Intent (NLI) to accept scholarships play at the college level! College Signing Day is a BIG DEAL! The Stone Bridge Bulldogs contributed five of their own student-athletes who will start their careers as college students and athletes playing football in the 2015-2016 academic year.
Aaron Crawford heads south to North Carolina at Chapel Hill to become a defensive lineman for the Tarheels. Aaron will play for Head Coach Larry Fedora and Defensive Line Coach Keith Gilmore. Aaron with his large agile stature and quick feet, opposing offensive lineman will have serious challenge when they meet up against him. Aaron will be a force to reckoned with. May the force be with you!
Chance Frye also heads to University of Virginia-Wise, south of Roanoke, VA, to become a punt returner and all-purpose receiver for the Cavaliers. Chance will play for Head Coach
Tony Gallegos heads north a bit to Towson University in Maryland to be a fullback for the Tigers. Tony will play for Head Coach Rob Ambrose and Running Backs Coach Reno Ferri.
Jimmy Prohaska will also be headed north to Loretto, PA to play on the Defensive Line for the St. Francis University Red Flash. Jimmy will play for Head Coach Chris Villarrial and D-Line Coach, Matt Gueguen.
Tanner Karafa will be heading the furthest north to Boston, Massachusetts to play linebacker for Boston College Eagles. Tanner will play for Head Coach Steve Addazio and Linebacker Coach, Don Brown. Tanner was Coach Addazio’s #1 pick for the Eagles in 2015. This speaks volumes for Tanners work ethic, leadership and academic and athletic accomplishments, and for the Stone Bridge Football Program. Coach Thompson was extremely pleased to learn of this fact from the BC coaching staff. Tanner is the second Bulldog to play for the Eagles, the first was Spencer Rositano who played defensive back in 2011 and 2012 and retired his junior year due to medical reasons.
Please join me in congratulating all five of these fine Stone Bridge athletes who will be moving on to play football in the fall at the college level.
