The production is set for December 3rd, 4th and 5th and will feature a 32-member cast.
“Oklahoma!” will feature senior, Shannon Connors as “Laurey.” She will star alongside Brody Brown as “Curly.”
John Wells, a 34-year Loudoun County High School drama veteran, will be directing the production. Wells has directed more than 175 productions. Willis Rosenfeld is the “Oklahoma!” music director. Rosenfeld is in his first year leading the choral program at Loudoun County, though he is not a stranger to the school’s choral and drama programs, having worked as the choral accompanist and musical pit director for the past eight years.
Song favorites from this American classic include “Oh what a beautiful Mornin’,” “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top” and “I Can’t Say No.” “Oklahoma!” is based on the play “Green Grow the Lilacs” by Lynn Riggs, with music by Richard Rodgers and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
