Sterling, VA (Dec. 2, 2015) – Dominion High School will present Thorton Wilder’s “The Matchmaker” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 3rd, through Saturday, December 5th.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students.
In the hilarious 1880’s farce, “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder, fuddy-duddy Brooklyn store owner Horace Van Dergelder doesn’t realize what he’s getting into when he hires Dolly Levi to find him a bride. When she sets him up for a dinner engagement at the Harmonia Gardens Restaurant with a fictitious mystery date who never shows up, he runs into his two underpaid hardworking store clerks out for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
The musical “Hello Dolly!” is based on this whimsical story of how the charming Dolly Levi takes charge of the chaotic events that follow, and how she humbles the curmudgeon into softening his ways, so that true love for all prevails in the end.
